Past ExhibitionsThe George and Helen Spelvin Folk Art Collection, curated by Beauvais LyonsJanuary 18–March 2, 2001 The George and Helen Spelvin Folk Art Collection is one of the most insightful private collections of contemporary outsider art. Curated by Beauvais Lyons, this exhibition included, among others: Lucas Farleys enamel painted records, Arthur Middeltons painted portraits of American presidents, and numerous limberjack puppets by Lester Dowdey. Exhibitions at the Regina Gouger Miller Gallery are supported in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; individual sponsors; the School of Art; and the College of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University. |
