The George and Helen Spelvin Folk Art Collection

Curated By Beauvais Lyons
Jan. 18–Mar. 2, 2001

About the Exhibition

The George and Helen Spelvin Folk Art Collection is one of the most insightful private collections of contemporary “outsider” art. Curated by Beauvais Lyons, this exhibition included, among others: Lucas Farley’s enamel painted records, Arthur Middelton’s painted portraits of American presidents, and numerous “limberjack” puppets by Lester Dowdey.
