Rudy Shepherd: Affirmative Actions

September 5–October 12, 2003

Rudy Shepherd: Affirmative Actions was a collection of works culled from the artist’s experience in the three previous years, “full of unanswered questions, special moments and the humdrum of everyday life.” The work explored issues of identity, shelter and the idea of home. The exhibition included a public project done in collaboration with youth from a Penn Avenue Arts Initiative program. Construction Junction generously provided materials.

Exhibitions at the Regina Gouger Miller Gallery are supported in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; individual sponsors; the School of Art; and the College of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University.
