Nothing Isn't Nothing: Roger Sayre

August 27–October 11, 2002

Even though most of his work incorporates photographic materials, Roger Sayre does not really consider himself a photographer. Light and its many properties and effects inspire Sayre’s clever and playful art installations. Nothing Isn’t Nothing featured four works that capture light or cast shadows to create new images hovering between the second and third dimension.

Exhibitions at the Regina Gouger Miller Gallery are supported in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; individual sponsors; the School of Art; and the College of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University.
