January 16–March 5, 2004

Typographically Speaking celebrated the art and typography of Matthew Carter, a type designer with more than 40 years of experience in the field. Carter is internationally known as a designer, with over 50 typefaces to his credit, including Bell Centennial, Miller News, Walker, Verdana, and Georgia. This exhibition was organized by the Albin O. Kuhn Library Gallery and curated by Margaret Re, UMBC, Maltimore, Maryland.

Exhibitions at the Regina Gouger Miller Gallery are supported in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; individual sponsors; the School of Art; and the College of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University.
